With rich experience in running the March session of the two-phase furniture fair, the organizer of the 19th China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou), or CIFF 2007 (March)£¬will model the upcoming session on the same pattern followed for the past two years.
The first phase will run from March 18 to 21, while the second phase is scheduled from March 27 to 30
The home furniture part of CIFF 2007 (March) and the Homedecor & Housewares China (H&H) 2007 (March) will be held during the initial phase.
The office furniture show, which is held every March, will take place concurrently with the China International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Raw Materials Fair (Guangzhou), or Interzum Guangzhou 2007, and Hometextile China 2007 (March) during the second phase.
Liu Jianjun, general manager of the China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Corp, which manages CIFF, said the organizer will introduce more modern and traditional home furniture, featuring original designs and innovative craftsmanship, for the living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, children¡¯s rooms and outdoor use by securing more international companies and local furniture giants to exhibit at the first phase of the fair.
Meanwhile, the office furniture show in the second phase will feature whole-office environment design trends. A wide range of chairs, desks and tables, partitions, partitioning walls, filing cabinets, bookshelves, safes and storage cabinets will be on display.
Homedecor & Housewares China 2007 (March) will showcase interior decorative items, artificial flowers, carpets and rugs, lighting fixtures and clocks, pictures, mirrors and frames, kitchen utensils, pottery and glassware, tableware, stone carvings and other accessories.
Liu said the organizer is gearing up to invite more globally renowned enterprises, especially those from Europe and North America, to the fair so that visitors will be able to see the latest international trends up close.
At Interzum Guangzhou 2007, machinery and auxiliary machines for woodworking and furniture production, products for maintaining manufacturing equipment, furniture components and components for upholstery and bedding as well as for interior works will be on show.
Liu said Chinese and overseas professionals from the fields of furniture manufacturing, wood and plastic processing or trading, furniture wholesale and retail, DIY (do-it-yourself) and BIY (build-it-yourself) will be the target invitees to the exhibition.
Hometextile China 2007 (March) will display home textiles and fabrics, sofa fabrics and accessories, bed coverings, kitchen and bath materials, floor coverings and carpeting, sun shades, curtains and window treatment accessories, bamboo and wooden blinds, curtain fabrics, upholstery and other home textiles primarily from the nation¡¯s top domestic brands.
The general manager said the strategy of holding the March session of the exhibition in two phases had been a logical move that has proven feasible and effective in the past two years.
For a start, the exhibit booths can be used to optimal effect as product lines can be better categorized, which makes it more convenient and economical for professional buyers to do business and for the fairs to better present the different trends within the sectors.
Fostering Asia¡¯s best exposition
In addition, this frees up much more exhibition space for more exhibitors who are yearning to fill a niche at the fairs and in turn offer more choices for buyers.
Dividing the shows helps the organizer¡¯s aim to make the best office furniture show in Asia an event on a par with international standards.
Liu said the organizer has begun sending out the invitations and will take advantage of its rich resources and extensive connections to invite more professional buyers to the spring shows.
The organizer will continue its efforts to promote the March events at home and abroad by sending promotional teams to other high-profile fairs around the world and placing ads and updates with professional magazines and mass media organizations in the target markets.
Exhibition space for the two phases reached about 200,000 square meters during CIFF 2006 (March). A total of 1,685 exhibitors from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as about 150 from abroad, showed off their products during the two phases of the fairs.
And 115,089 buyers from 118 countries and regions visited the March events.
Of them, 89,768 were from China and 25,321 came from abroad, an increase of 16.99 per cent and 13.04 per cent respectively from the 15th session in March 2005, according to the organizer¡¯s statistics.
